Privacy Policy
Dirt Factor (by Kaizen Endurance, ltd.) helps you set race goals and train for them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and sign-in (email and password, Sign in with Apple or Google, handled by Google Firebase Authentication). With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email; we then receive a private relay address.
- Rider details you enter: weight, FTP, training elevation, rider type, and optionally sex, birth year and threshold heart rate.
- Rides and courses you add: race files (FIT, GPX, TCX) with power, heart rate, cadence, speed, elevation and GPS location; courses you upload or pick; goals and training plans.
- Connected services: if you connect Intervals.icu, the training data you choose to share (activities, power curve, recent volume) and the workouts we send back. Your Intervals.icu key is stored encrypted. If you connect Strava, we read your rides to compute short summaries (weekly riding, ride dates, best power for set durations); raw activities, streams and GPS are never stored, the summaries expire after seven days, Strava data is never combined with other data, and everything from Strava is deleted when you disconnect.
- How sessions felt: the effort rating (RPE 1-10) and optional note you give after a planned session.
- Subscriptions: if you subscribe, the App Store sends us signed records of the purchase (product, dates, renewal and refund status) and an anonymous account token that ties it to your Dirt Factor account. We never see your payment card.
- Technical: server logs (time, request, approximate IP address) kept for security and debugging.
How we use it
To run the app for you: model your races, build and adjust your plans, show your progress, provide Premium, keep the service secure, and improve the pacing model. We may use rider data in aggregate, without names or emails, to tune the model (for example, typical speeds on technical trail). We email you about your account (a welcome, a reminder before a free trial ends, confirmation when an account is deleted) and, if you leave it on, your coming week's training plan: turn that off in the app (Profile, Notifications) or with the link in the email. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
Who processes it
Google Firebase (sign-in), DigitalOcean (our servers and file storage, United States), Resend (sending account and support email: your email address and the message), Apple and Google (purchases), weather and elevation providers (course coordinates only, no account details), and Intervals.icu, Strava, Wahoo or Hammerhead when you connect them. From Wahoo and Hammerhead we keep only a short summary of each ride (its date, riding time and best power over set durations), never your GPS track or the ride file, and we delete it when you disconnect. Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
Your choices
- Edit your rider details any time in your profile.
- Delete race files, goals and plans individually, or delete your whole account from the profile screen. Deleting your account removes your data from our servers; nightly backups expire within 35 days.
- Disconnect Intervals.icu or Strava at any time.
- Reminders are scheduled on your phone and can be turned off in the app or in iPhone Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or any other privacy question at hello@dirtfactor.app.
Children
Dirt Factor is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
